Quito
Quito with its 2.3 million inhabitants is the capital of the state of Ecuador. It lies about 20 km south of the equator and 2.850 meters above sea level. Quito chose the area “Puertas del Sol”, an area of 20 hectares as INTEGRATION pilot project. Of this area, especially the 8 ha that used to be a garbage dump for domestic waste and construction waste should be examined for new usage. Possibilities for a new use are room for public institutions and green spaces and hereby integrating them into the surrounding settlements.
